Many of us are going to see that our regular 26 weeks of unemployment benefits are running out. The good news is the CARES Act gets us an additional 13 weeks extension known as Pandemic Extended Unemployment Compensation (PEUC).
YOU WILL NEED TO APPLY FOR IT to get it. No worries though, its really easy to apply.
Step 9 is where you start the new application (7 questions just saying you are still unemployed) and you will again have to choose a bank account (have your account numbers handy) or a debit card, how to deduct taxes, etc.
If your last regular UI week is only a partial payment, MN UI is NOT smart enough to give you that regular UI partial payment and a partial payment out of the PEUC extended benefits to give a full benefit payment for the week.
So your final week, of your 26 weeks, will be whatever the remaining balance was on your account.
Hopefully we'll all get another LWA weekly payment before the FEMA funds run out.
