Look in your bank or credit union accounts. The $600 weekly UI benefit has started showing up in people's credit union or bank accounts on April 9th.
There is no notification on your individual account in the MN UI system. That is to say, if you look under View and Maintain My Account, and then Benefit Determination Summary or Payment Information, you will see nothing related to the $600 benefit.
But the money may already be in your bank or credit union account as of April 9th.
Congress recently passed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Minnesota is one of the first states in the nation to implement the $600 per week of additional compensation available under the CARES Act. If you are eligible for any unemployment benefit program, you will automatically receive the $600 additional compensation (beginning the week of March 29).
Note it says 'If you are eligible for any unemployment program' and it automatically starts with the week beginning March 29th.
