For those new to MN UI, Sunday requests and applications were not available in the past. There is a new Login screen that now lists when certain SS numbers are 'supposed' to request benefits on M-F. That said, the system is currently processing weekly benefit requests, on a Sunday.
Just in from MN UI:
To ensure our system can handle the increased activity we are experiencing, we are asking that *new* unemployment insurance applicants apply online on an assigned day, based on your social security number (SSN).
and,
COVID-19, your first request for payment
After you submit your request, please wait 48 hours to call us with questions about your payment.
Due to changes in Unemployment Insurance related to COVID 19, our messaging may not fully
reflect the status of your request. Be assured, we are working on your request.
As mentioned elsewhere, the online application process is frustratingly cumbersome for people with many employers. It may be better to call in on the days listed to file an application for a new claim.
Talking to some folks that have just recently applied for UI, where it 'looks like' they will not receive benefits, several screens regarding their new accounts were not populated yet. As it says above, the UI computer system is just far behind and trying to catch up with the flood of applicants. Those same people have been paid, it just took a few days to process.
