Most stagehands know they are required to work an increasing number of days (for an increasing number of years) to advance from a given letter list to the next higher list. (This allows us to refer more experienced people first, and helps ensure newer people have the opportunity to learn from those with more experience and stronger skills.)
Or if they can prove that they have knowledge/skills/experience valuable to our profession, they can appeal their initial list placement.
BUT, did you also know all stagehands are required to pass a written test for each advancement from the Stagehand Referral E, D, and C Lists?
If you have not taken or cannot pass these tests, you will not be advanced even if you have worked the required number of days/years.
Advancement testing is regularly scheduled.
If you are on the C, D, or E Stagehand Referral List and have not tested, you should watch under the Education tab for when Advancement testing is scheduled.
(For more detailed information, see the 'Rules of Placement' in the Current Dispatch Rules. They are posted under Worker Resources, Referral List Downloads and Current Dispatch Rules).
Please note, Wardrobe List workers are not tested and cannot appeal their Wardrobe list placement based on skills, education, or previous work experience. See the Current Dispatch Rules above for details.
